synopsis
"A smile is the best makeup a girl can wear", said Marilyn Monroe.
One of the greatest symbols of 20th-century popular culture decided to end her life at the age of 36. Behind Marilyn's well-known smile, she hid and dealt with various problems unknown to the general public, one of which was endometriosis, a condition that became debilitating and played a significant role in the decline of her mental health. This disease is also a part of my daily life and often presents a major obstacle, with my portrait being easily replaced by that of many others.
Here, we embark on the path of deconstructing Marilyn Monroe, while simultaneously, and in some way, deconstructing my own self.
